Yesterday was ONE year since I launched Alessa into the world with ASTERION! That’s right, my bull boi and murder girl are a whole year old. Can I just say…what a fucking year.
I had planned on writing this newsletter yesterday but I put an Instagram post up and got super fucking emotional. I’m just so in awe and grateful how the past year played out, and I know I owe to you guys, my readers. The Court of the Underworld books really saved my sanity, even before Covid and Lockdown and the ass hat of a year that was 2020. I’m now living my dream (which sounds lame as shit, I know) but I really am. After years of chained to a cubicle, struggling to get my work out there and slogging on, I can finally work full time doing what I love…writing sexy monster books for you.
Speaking of sexy monsters…Wings of the Night Prince is growing every single day. I’ve just hit the 35k word mark, and still feel like I have a fair way to go. It might end up being longer than the others because it’s the last in the trilogy and there’s lots going one, but from the love I’ve been getting over the series, I don’t think you guys will mind too much. Also *jazz hands* Killian. It’s going to be worth the wait, and I’m going to do my best to get it to you end of April/ early May at the latest.
On top of Killian (euphemism intended), I’m also busy trying to get some world building and chapter planning in for my next series. I’ve had some really exciting shit drop into my head recently and I’m trying to map out ANOTHER series. It’s all happening. I’m thinking of taking a few weeks off in April after I have tied up drafting Killian’s book, and working on clearing my slate, getting the fae world out of my head, before I launch into writing my next book.
On my side of the planet we are about to go into Autumn, so I’m trying to lap up as much sunshine as I can. It’s been a really cool summer temps wise, and while I love an open fire, I’m really hoping for a few more warm days.
